Continuing Education Credits

These organizations will grant Continuing Education Credits to their members who successfully complete the LQM course, AST course, ISO 15189:2022 short course and receive proof of Certification:

Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science

The LQM course was approved for 237 Professional Enhancement Program (PEP) hours and 15.8 Continuing Professional Studies (CPS)/ART credits. CSMLS file number is 4611-21. This assessment has been completed in compliance with the process described on the CSMLS website:

The AST course was approved for 82 Professional Enhancement Program (PEP) hours and 4.1 Continuing Professional Studies (CPS)/ART credits. CSMLS file number is 5366-23. This assessment has been completed in compliance with the process described on the CSMLS website:

The short course ISO 15189:2022 What Labs need to know about the changes is eligible by CSMLS/ASCP for 0.6 CPS credits 9.5 PEP hours.

Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Maintenance of Certification (MOC)

The Division of Continuing Professional Development, University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine (UBC CPD) is fully accredited by the Continuing Medical Education Accreditation Committee (CACME) to provide CPD credits for physicians.
The LQM 2024 program is an Accredited Self-Assessment Program (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by UBC CPD. You may claim a maximum of 136 hours (credits are automatically calculated). Each physician should claim only those credits accrued through participation in the activity.

The AST 2024 program is an Accredited Self-Assessment Program (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by UBC CPD. You may claim a maximum of 72 hours (credits are automatically calculated). Each physician should claim only those credits accrued through participation in the activity.

To claim the MOC credits, physicians must login to their member portal with the Royal College (for specialists) or the CFPC (for family physicians) respectively. After receiving the LQM certificate, physicians log in to their Royal College or CFPC account and enter their credits and the name of the event accordingly.

American Society for Clinical Pathology

The LQM course meets the criteria for ASCP CMP (Credential Maintenance Program) points (see info and process) -Scroll down to How to Manage Points  and then select: SUGGESTED CE PROVIDERS.

The LQM course qualifies for  237 contact hours and has been assigned 15.8 credits by the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science.

The AST course was approved for 82 Professional Enhancement Program (PEP) hours and 4.1 Continuing Professional Studies (CPS)/ART credits.

Participants wanting to claim ASCP CMP (Credential Maintenance Program) points will be provided with a letter confirming the contact hours and credits in addition to the Certificate of completion.
